Time Managment

Time management is something I have struggled with throughout college. Especially procrastination. There are so many time that I know the consequences and still wait till the last minute to do something and it is definitely something I need to get better at. It makes me feel worse too! Ive had bad anxiety for about 3 years now and I know procrastination just adds to trying to control my anxiety! After reading  How to beat anxiety  and  The important habit of just starting  I have a better understanding of why I procrastinate and how to beat it.  Photo from  Wikimedia Commons

An introduction to me... Zack Ziegenhorn

Hello Everybody! My name is Zack Ziegenhorn, but most everyone I know calls me Zig for short. Its much easier to remember than Zack and MUCH easier to spell than Ziegenhorn. (lol) I am from Tulsa, OK and I am a senior Communication major. I went to Tulsa Union High School where I played baseball. I continued my baseball career for one year in college at Seminole State College but had to cut my baseball career short due to nagging injuries 😡. I came to OU in 2013 because I have been Sooner born and Sooner bred. I have been a huge OU fan my entire life and was so excited to get the opportunity to attend this University.                      Obviously I am a huge sports fan and love football, baseball, basketball, and golf. My favorite teams are OU, the St. Louis Cardinals, and the Oklahoma City Thunder. Thunder up!! I enjoy going to the lake over the summer and getting on the boat and just having a great time with friends and family. I would consider myself a social person because I l

Growing my mind with GrowMindset

This is the first time I have ever heard of growth mindset or Dr.  Dweck. A lot of what she talks about I feel like I can relate to. There was a lot of times in High School where I certainly did not feel challenged at all and felt like as soon as I got to OU that it was almost a culture shock in school. I had to adapt to finally being challenged (and learned what real homework was like). I'm excited to learn more about growth mindset. I played baseball growing up and for year into college so I enjoy challenging my self and realizing you have to put in the effort to what you want out of things. There are times I can get a bit lazy especially in other classes so I hope that this will help me see things in a new light and really put a perspective on the importance of mind. I took this class because it is completely out of my comfort zone and I wanted to challenge my self while feeling anxious. Little did I know I was going to be learning more than mythology and folklore. Its all ab

First Impressions.... Technology!

I have been in college for 4 1/2 years now and I have never taken a class like this.. It is so exciting to get to create my own blog and website. I feel like this are good tools to have as I try and get a job and further my career. Professor Gibbs has made it so easy to figure as when I first started I was a little bit scared because I had never done anything like this before. I hope to learn more and more about all the new tools she is introducing me to and to become a more well rounded writer! Photo from Flickr

First Impressions..... Assignments!

I am very excited about taking this course. I have never taken a class like this where you are free to create your own stories and create your own time to do them. I am trying to expand my interests because I have never been extremely interested in mythology and folklore but I cannot wait to learn more about it through this class! Professor Gibbs recently told me my last name is mythological. It is Ziegenhorn which translated means goat horn. And the most famous goat horn of all is the Cornucopia!!                                                                    Picture of Cornucopia

Turks and Caicos... My FAVORITE Place

My favorite place in the whole world is Providenciales Island in Turks and Caicos. I have been going every New years week for the last three years and I absolutely love it there. The water is a color that is indescribable and is just amazing to look at. It is so clear you can see the bottom of the ocean almost every where you go! The food and culture is a big mix of a lot of places, so you definitely can find something you enjoy. My favorite thing to do there is to go snorkeling as it is one of the best places to snorkel and scuba dive in the world! The water color and white sand beaches are stunning!                                                                   Photo by Agile Levine As you can see the colors are magnificent and the water is so clear!
