  1. Hey there, Zack!

I just got done reading your first story. I must say, I was very curious to see who Zig was. I was not sure if it was a storybook character or your nickname. I just read your introduction, so I found out pretty quickly! The first story in your storybook was great! I was not sure what the story was about because I had not read the source story before! The ending of your story really hit me hard! I was not expecting to read such a gruesome tale! I was almost sure that he would escape from the lion. You did a good job keeping me on my toes! I was definitely surprised by that one! I also thought that your image was really funny! I think it provides a sense of comic relief from the gruesome ending to your story. I wonder what would have happened if Androcles ended up besting the lion instead? That would also be really interesting to read about! I noticed there were a few spelling mistakes, but other than that you did a great job! Keep up the good work!

  2. Hello Zack! The design for your web page is pretty neat and it was very simple to navigate through your page which I appreciate. I read both of your stories and thought they were pretty well written. I was curious as to what was going to happen in the first story with Johnny and was happy to see that he got his honor and fame at the end. I did think that maybe there could have been a little more background about him as well as a little more detail throughout the story. At first I thought the story was actually true so it really engaged me towards it. For the second one I thought it was interesting and enjoyed the plot twist of you making it your own story by adding a more gruesome image to the reader. I really enjoyed reading your stories and hope to come back to read some more!

  3. Hi Zack!
I must say that both of your stories were short and sweet, but packed a lot of action. In the first story you pretty much followed the same plot sequence as the original story which lead to an even better story when told in your own words. The fact that you changed the occupation and location of the story to football and OU lets me know that you must be an OU football fan with some school spirit. There was a typo in the first story however in the second paragraph where you say "He wound up and three the football". I think you meant to say "He wound up and threw the football". I may be mistaken though. I thoroughly enjoyed your second story as well. You completely changed the ending of this story and it turned out amazing. I'm always for a more plot twisting and gruesome ending instead of the cheesy happy ending.

  4. Hi Zack! Once I saw the title of this portfolio I knew I had to click on it. I like the design of your website and the pictures you used, especially the one with the cat. The story that interested me the most was “The Tale of Johnny Gloke.” I was actually pretty curious as to why you named the character Johnny Gloke until I read the author’s note. I think my favorite part of the story is the fact that Johnny was able to just walk on to OU like it was nothing. It was like OU said we need anyone that can throw a ball and Johnny ended up with the position. I think my main question about this story is why you made it to where the other quarterback breaks his leg. What if you made it to where Johnny throws terrible passes the whole game, but they get tipped and somehow end up in his receivers’ hands. I think this would add a more comical aspect to this story.

  5. Hi Zack! It was great getting to read your project! I was a little thrown off at first because the stories didn't have a lot to with each other and you didn't have much of an introduction but overall I really enjoyed your stories - especially the one about Johnny the football player - I think we'd all read almost anything about OU football right now!!! I really appreciated how detailed your author's notes were because I hadn't read almost any of the stories your project was originally based on - thanks for giving such detailed descriptions so I could keep up! I liked how much you changed up the second story but since that was the only one I had read I was expecting a wayyyy happier (and less terrifying) ending so I was definitely surprised! Great job! I really enjoyed your pictures even though they didn't have a whole lot to do with your stories, they definitely kept things light! Overall I really enjoyed your project! Great job and good luck with finals!!

  6. Hi Zack! First of all, what a cool portfolio — your site design is really clean and modern. On the first story about the devil and the drunk, I really liked your spin on the story and thought the ending was appropriate, but sobering. The only thing I noticed in this story is that there were a few grammatical and spelling errors (like "but he would grand them anyways" instead of "grant"), but overall it was a neat retelling. In the second story, I really liked how you modernized the story and the setting! I did wonder about some parts that lacked a few details — did Johnny have any experience playing with a football team before he decided to go out for OU's team? And on your final story about Androcles and the lion, I thought your version was really creative and was a unique twist on the original with your own "moral of the story." Great job with this portfolio and good luck with finals!

Growth Mindset: My job as a growth mindset place

I have a part time job at a store in Del City called Gregorys sporting goods. I sell team uniforms and various things to customers and have been doing so for about two and half years while I have been in college. I work part time along with school. There is a lot of talking to do and selling and I have used those skills to be successful at what I do. I have been searching for a career and finally found one upon graduation and going through interviews you have to sell yourself. I believe my job at gregorys has provided with mindset that I will succeed in my career. I loved to learn and grow and this part time job has lead me to learn patience and organization. I am going to be sad leaving but I am so excited to start my new career. Gregorys Logo

Wikipedia trail: From Three Little Pigs To LSD

Three Little Pigs; Link I had just written a blog post about the story of the Three Little Pigs. I read through the article and started to read about the different modern versions of this famous fairy tail and that is when I came across a character who was a "Cannabis Smoker". Cannabis Smoking; Link I chose the cannabis smoking link because I figured it would lead me down a complete different road from where I began. The cannabis smoking article got to the different ways to ingest cannabis and that is when I came across "Place under the tongue". Sublingual Administration; Link I chose this subject because I wanted to get even deeper into how strange I could end up from the original search. Reading through this article obviously lead me to the different drugs that are taken by placing them underneath the tongue. That is when I came across "LSD". Lysergic Acid Diethylamide; Link I chose LSD because I knew that this is where I would of ended and to...

Wikipedia Trail; From Vishnu to Slang

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vishnu I got to vishnu through the class twitter page. I have always wondered about vishnu and for some reason this weekend it got brought up. So when I saw it, it caught my eye.  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yoga When I was reading through Vishnu on wikipedia it began to talk about the different positions the statues of Vishnu come in. One of them was a yoga sitting pose. Hinduism and these gods have a lot to do with yoga and yoga is important in many religions in the middle east and asia.  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fatwa As I was reading about Yoga and religions I came across the muslim religion where they issued a Fatwa for any muslims trying to practice yoga. I had never heard of a fatwa before I started watching "Curb your Enthusiam" where this season there was a Fatwa against Larry David.  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Slang Fatwa can be used as slang and that is how Curb your Enthusiasm used it in there se...
