Week 14 review

My favorite thing from the announcements this week was the video of "Tiny Hamster is a Giant Monster". I thought it was pretty funny how the hamster was literally just eating everything and stuffing its cheeks. Its impressive that with no words a video can say so much. I just imagined what people would be saying on the street or the guys the helicopters screaming when he started eating them. http://ouclassannouncements.blogspot.com/search/label/current Tiny Hamster is a Giant Monster; Link

Famous Last Words; End of School and OU Football

It is starting to become real to me that I am going to be finished with school forever in less than two weeks. It still feels like yesterday I was starting High School. I have another huge transition coming and that makes me anxious and happy all at the same time. When I started Kindergarten I got to go to Miami and watch OU win a national championship. Now, Im graduating college, I think its only fitting that they have an opportunity to win it again seventeen years later when I am done with school. I hope they make it there and when. I have already bought plane tickets to Atlanta. (No worries they are refundable). I am a bit ready to be done with school but I have a stressful two weeks ahead of me and lots of more writing to do. I feel like it never stops! I am excited to start my career though and begin to perfect my craft. I have been through a lot in College and looking back at it, it has shaped me to become the person I am today. I have had to persevere many many times and that ...

Wikipedia Trail; From Vishnu to Slang

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vishnu I got to vishnu through the class twitter page. I have always wondered about vishnu and for some reason this weekend it got brought up. So when I saw it, it caught my eye.  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yoga When I was reading through Vishnu on wikipedia it began to talk about the different positions the statues of Vishnu come in. One of them was a yoga sitting pose. Hinduism and these gods have a lot to do with yoga and yoga is important in many religions in the middle east and asia.  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fatwa As I was reading about Yoga and religions I came across the muslim religion where they issued a Fatwa for any muslims trying to practice yoga. I had never heard of a fatwa before I started watching "Curb your Enthusiam" where this season there was a Fatwa against Larry David.  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Slang Fatwa can be used as slang and that is how Curb your Enthusiasm used it in there se...

Learning by H.E.A.R.T; Reading Out Loud

I saw this challenge a couple weeks ago and decided to try it out today. I think it really helps with understanding the story better the first time you read it and just all around comprehension of stories. It was a little awkward because I felt like I was talking to myself but once I got over that it was okay. I noticed I have done this before without realizing it when I write papers for school. I have done it more in capstone class due to not wanting to make a mistake. I should start doing this more often! reading out loud; link

Growth Mindset; Having a conversation about growth mindset

I started to realize my capstone professor kept using the term "growth mindset" a lot in class discussions and in different slides he would show us. I asked him if he used the same source as we have been using in this class all semester and he said yes! He is starting to prepare us for the real world and giving us tips on how to be successful and a lot of his ideas come from growth mindset. It is all about learning new things and chasing your dreams. Not getting down on yourself and learning from your mistakes. I thought "how great is that all these classes are tying in together and trying there best to help us as students be as successful as possible and providing us the knowledge and resources to do so". Chase your dreams! Link
